Getting Started
Metadata Repository Service provides developers with an API-driven repository service that specialises in storing and hosting metadata in JSON format made available through a publicly available URL.
Managing and hosting metadata for thousands of assets can be a hassle for developers.
Metadata Repository Service is a tool that helps facilitate some of the challenges and supports the following use cases:
- Store and host metadata made publicly available via a URL
- Reference different metadata types where it could be linked or embedded
- Create metadata in an unpublished state, then pick one at random at the point of minting
- View historical data for a given asset metadata
Requesting Namespace
To start using the Metadata Repository Service, you’ll need a namespace. You can request one by reaching out to the Futureverse support team, who will provide a namespace specific to your project.
Metadata Domain
You can explore the full details of the endpoint and other available API operations using the Swagger documentation for Production or Staging environments.
Production
- Metadata Domain: https://metadata.futureverse.app
- Swagger Documentation: https://metadata-repository-api.futureverse.app/swagger
Staging
- Metadata Domain: https://metadata.futureverse.cloud
- Swagger Documentation: https://metadata-repository-api.futureverse.cloud/swagger
Authentication
The Metadata Repository Service uses Sign In with Ethereum (SIWE) to authenticate users. This generates access tokens that are required for interacting with the authenticated endpoints.
Tip: Use the SIWE Generator Tool to create your tokens. The generated content in the Authorization box, after you sign, should be used as the Authorization
header of your API calls.
